The high stakes online landscape has changed and a new group of players are taking a shot at the biggest games available on the internet.

Starting this week we're adding a new regular feature that breaks down the top 10 biggest online cash game winners and losers over the last seven days.

This week saw high stakes regs Viktor “Isildur1” Blom and newly relocated Phil “MrSweets28” Galfond take a break from the tremendous amount of volume they’ve both been putting in on PokerStars.

Our top 10 leaderboards weren’t completely absent of known players, however, as Theo Jorgensen, Rui Cao and Alexey Makarov all either won or lost huge sums of money throughout the week.

The games could get exponentially more exciting over the coming weeks as Brian Hastings and Dan “jungleman12” Cates are both rumored to be on their way to a country where they can play on PokerStars.

What follows is a complete list of the top 10 winners and losers from Aug. 5-12. As always check our online poker stats section for more information.

Top 10 Biggest Winners Online

Deldar182 and verve.oasis broke out of relative obscurity this week to become the top two biggest winners on PokerStars.

Although he’s flown under the radar, Deldar182, also known as Australian David Eldar, has stacked his way to $396k in profit this year.

Meanwhile verve.oasis has been even more successful and looks to be up $651k over 719 sessions on PokerStars.

There were several more established players who made the top 10 winners list this week with Theo Jorgensen, Rui Cao and Ben Tollerene all taking down some serious cash.

Jorgensen was somewhat of a surprise because he’s much more of live player but WSOP bracelet winner had his way online this week.

All the action on PokerStars continues to be in $50/$100, and to a lesser degree, $100/$200 Pot-Limit Omaha.

Here’s a complete look at the top 10 biggest winners this week:

Top 10 Biggest Losers Online

It was not a good week to be Alexey “LuckyGump” Makarov.

The Russian was by far the biggest loser of the week dropping $240k in 3,625 hands on PokerStars.

Makarov started this week by booking a relatively small $30k victory but crashed and burned over the next six days.

He’s still holding on to $324k profit this week but he will not be able to sustain many more weeks like this if he wants to stay in the black.

Outside of LuckyGump, the top losers on PokerStars this week were relatively unknown outside of Alexander “kanu7” Miller who competed against Blom in the Isildur1 SuperStar Showdown earlier this year.

It’s also worth noting that Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies was active this week but essentially broke even after the dust had cleared.
