Greek poker player Konstantinos “brave-83” Gennaios outlasted 20,126 players to win the $100k Game of Your Life promotion on PokerStars this weekend.

Gennaios, a 27-year-old from Thessaloniki, will have the opportunity to attend any sporting event in the world with all his friends and family and a maximum budget of $100,000.

“It was an unbelievable feeling reaching the final table out of a field of over 20,000 players,” he said.

“At that point I was pretty confident in myself that I could take it down, and that I was meant to go all the way.

"To tell you the truth, I still haven’t realized the magnitude of my victory. I’ve been playing poker for the last five years, with some small four-digit paydays, playing micro and low stakes, but never anything close to this.”

PokerStars ran six weeks of freerolls for the promotion, culminating in the grand final last night. Over the course of the promotion, PokerStars gave away more than $700,000 from players around the world. Gennaios won the dream sports package without ever paying for single buy in.

Gennaios, who works for an audio-video production company in Greece, is still deciding what event he’ll attend but as a lifelong basketball fan, the NBA finals are hard to ignore.

“If I decide to attend a game it will definitely be the NBA Finals, accompanied by six or seven of my closest friends,” he said.

“It will give us a chance hopefully to watch LeBron [James] and [Dwayne] Wade take down their first championship together.”

Gennaios may have to narrow his group of friends, as floor seats to the NBA Finals have been known to go for more than $20,000 each.
