Feed your poker hunger through YouTube
Nothing really beats live poker action - playing or watching - but if you have to settle for the next best thing, dialing up poker clips on demand on YouTube might be the most addictive thing since, well, live-action poker
Bad beats - oh man, some bad, bad beats - ranting pros, classic showdowns, poker legends playing some of the trickiest hands, home video of your average weekly poker game, screenshot videos from the latest online tournaments... it's all in there.
All you have to do is click, and enjoy.
You could troll around for hours, finding great hand after great hand from the WSOP, or from GSN's "High Stakes Poker." But if you're looking for a quick fix, these are some of the best clips kicking around right now:
Farha bets $200 with A-T off-suit from middle position. Oliver Hudson - actor, son of Goldie Hawn, one of People Magazine's 50 most beautiful people in the world - sits down with $10,000 in chips at the feature table and finds pocket tens.
Hudson raises to $450, Farha calls. Flop is A-A-T. Both slow-play the flop, Hudson bets $300 on the turn, Farha raises to $1,300, Hudson goes all-in, Farha calls so fast his chips were almost in before Hudson's.
Ten grand, gone in ninety seconds. Like Goldie shopping for lamé catsuits, but more fun for everybody else.
2. Stu Ungar's comeback win at the WSOP in 1997
If you've never seen Stu Ungar before, these are must watch clips.
In the first, from his second consecutive WSOP Main Event win in 1981, he looks like a young Mick Jagger. He's all bones and swagger, like he knows he's the greatest card player of all time.
In the second, in 1997 when he beats Peter Strzemp for his miraculous third title, you can really see the impact of 16 years of hard living.
Tragically, the greatest card player of all time died alone in a motel room 18 months later.
3. Scotty Nguyen winning the WSOP Main Event in 1998.
This classic clip of the last hand shows Nguyen rocking the world's best mullet, tight white pants and a white-and-black Scott Baio-inspired shirt unbuttoned to his navel with Mr. T. chains dangling all over.
He goes all-in, stands up, takes a sip of his beer and says, "You call, it's going to be all over baby." Guy calls, all over.
4. Antanas "Tony G" Guoga trash talks
Have you heard Tony G. trash talk before? He's kind of mean.
5. Almost nothing is more fun than watching grown men turned into children by a poker game.
Phil "the Poker Brat" Hellmuth have made it an art-form. They will never, ever believe they're not supposed to win every hand.
Matusow calling Gus Hansen an idiot
Hellmuth ranting after losing to Annie Duke
