Great British tour players en route to Bournemouth

Next week the action's in Bournemouth, U.K., except this time the tourists will be flocking to the poker tables, not sandy stretches of beach.

The resort town on the southern coast of England is the scene of the next Great British Poker Tour stop.

The GBPT will be touching down at the Gala Casino June 13-17, with a slew of European celebrity players in tow.

Hendon Mobster Joe Beevers is expected to attend, along with Paul "Action" Jackson. World Cup-winning rugby player Mike Tindall is on board for the tournament, as is former Republic of Ireland and Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino. Snooker pros Jimmy White and Ken Doherty are also committed.

And for good reason: the winner of the televised event earns more than £25,000 and a seat at the Great British Poker Tour Grand Final this fall.

Though the stars are aligning for the tournament, it's actually local players who've historically met with the greatest success at GBPT events, with amateurs taking all the regional festivals.

After the Bournemouth stop, the tour heads to Leeds before wrapping the season with the Grand Final in October, the winner of which will receive an all-expenses paid trip to the Bellagio Five Diamon World Poker Classic in Las Vegas this December.
