GNUF rolls dice from new heights
By Erin Warner
Hovering above a steep and snow-packed slope in the mountains of Greenland, a helicopter built for extreme conditions sends two dice - two meters tall and weighing half a ton - tumbling down the incline in what GNUF Poker is calling The World's Greatest Dice Roll.
The results are anyone's guess. Well, not anyone's - the poker room's latest promotion lets GNUF customers bet on what was rolled to win a trip to Greenland.
The site is hosting four special freeroll tournaments Sept. 29 to Oct. 20 where cash prizes are up for grabs with extra winnings earmarked for those who guess the outcome of the dice roll correctly.
Players who guess one die correctly double any cash they may have won in the tournament. Those who guess both dice correctly get their freeroll money tripled. Each freeroll has a $1,000 U.S. prize pool which pays out to the top 20% of the tournament.
The first event takes place Sept. 29 at 8 p.m., the second is Oct. 6 at 8 p.m., the third is Oct. 13 at 8 p.m. and the final tournament is Oct. 20 at 8 p.m. (all times CET).
Those who finish in the top 10 of any of the events will be invited to a Dice Roll Gear Freeroll Oct. 27 at 8 p.m. (CET). Haglöfs/Polartec gear will be awarded to the winner.
Eligible participants must collect at least one GNUF point 48 hours prior to the tournament. The points are awarded for playing any poker games for real money after depositing on the site.
