Girls' poker night out Tuesdays at Caesars Palace
By Erin Warner
The latest poker tournament hosted by Caesars Palace Las Vegas has a stringent entrance requirement - no testosterone. In a first on the strip, the resort is introducing a weekly ladies' night poker tournament.
Registration begins at 4 p.m. each Tuesday and the tournament fires up at 6 p.m. at Caesars, which boasts the largest poker room in the city.
The $75 buy-in gets players $1,500 in chips for the event.
The winner of each Tuesday tournament is invited back to play in a Tournament of Champions, where the women will compete to secure a seat in the World Series of Poker ladies event.
This is the first-ever ladies' night poker tournament at the casino, Caesars poker room manager Jim Pedulla said in a release.
"With poker's incredible rise in popularity, especially among women, ladies' night is the perfect opportunity for experienced players as well as newcomers to play in an inviting and comfortable atmosphere," he said.
