Break out the lederhosen - the European Poker Tour (EPT) has added a German stop to its Season 3 tournament schedule.
The new event, which will be held in Dortmund, Germany, March 8-11, is the tour's first-ever visit to Deutschland.
Housed in the Hohensyburg Casino, the four-day No-Limit Hold'em tournament will feature a €5,000 buy-in with the playing field capped at 400 entrants. As usual, the event will be televised as part of the EPT series.
Players can qualify for the seventh and newest stop on the EPT by competing online at PokerStars.com for as little as $5.50 starting Jan. 1.
The addition has been in the works for months, said EPT director John Duthie in a release today. Though there weren't many German locations that could accommodate the event, the Casino Hohensyberg fit all the requirements, he said.
"Poker players will be pleased to hear that there will be a full schedule of tournament activities alongside the main event, and cash games will also be available," Duthie said.
Also remaining on the tournament schedule are stops at the Scandinavian Open in Copenhagen, Denmark Jan 17-20; the French Open in Deauville, France Feb. 20-24; and the EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo March 28 to April 1.
