Gene_R shows who's the DADDY 2 at LEOCOP

chips and cards

By Sarah Polson

The Ladbrokes European Online Championship of Poker IV trucked on with another DADDY event Tuesday night. Gene_R showed them all who's the DADDY by taking down the event for a $25,932.50 win.

Second place went to TightSedFred for $16,502.50. The two battled for five hands in heads-up play before Gene_R triumphed.

On the final hand Gene_R called in the small blind with 5h 4h and then flat-called when TightSedFred raised. The flop came 5d 5s 8d, giving Gene_R trips.

TightSedFred wasn't too far behind him, however, with Ad Kd for the nut-flush draw. The turn brought the 4c, giving Gene_R a full house, and all the chips went into the middle. The river card was inconsequential and Gene_R raked in the last of the chips as well as the DADDY 2 title.

The final-table results were:

This was TightSedFred's first attempt at a LEOCOP IV tournament, and second place puts him in 28th position on the LEOCOP Masters Leaderboard. Gene_R, who has played in seven of the 11 LEOCOP IV events so far, lands himself in 11th place on the leaderboard with the win.

"The activity on the LEOCOP Leaderboard has been manic as the festival draws to a close. Players on the Leaderboard are trading positions on a daily basis in order to secure an exclusive invitation to the Masters Event on the 22nd of November," said Edward Ihre, Ladbrokes Poker managing director.

"I think players are trying to rack up as many points as possible to be certain of their place in the top 80 rankings by playing in as many tournaments as they can."

Ihre pointed out that a cash in any of the remaining events could still propel a player high into the LEOCOP Masters Leaderboard rankings, and big changes could still happen on the Leaderboard over the next few days.

"We expect record numbers to participate," Ihre said. "The added money is reason enough but I'd imagine the chance to be playing in Poker Million for a cool million might also have something to do with it."
