RedKings, Everest get EU licenses

EU Flag

Online poker continues to make inroads into the European realm. Everest Poker and RedKings Poker recently received European Union licensing.

Everest Poker obtained a remote gaming license for the European jurisdiction of Malta.

"The EU license further underlines Everest Poker and Casino's continuing efforts to bring a unique and secure gaming experience to Europe, and as a result, Everest Poker is now the largest poker operator with a LGA Malta license," said the poker site in a press release.

Everest Poker has been offering localized online poker experiences to Europeans in 11 different languages since 2004.

The Malta license also gives the company the benefit of falling under European Economic Area jurisdiction. Companies based in the EEA have approval to advertise their online gambling ventures in the United Kingdom.

RedKings Poker will also enjoy that added perk now that it has been granted a White Label EU Poker License with software supplier Ongame under its Gibraltar remote gambling license.

"In just two years RedKings has already achieved meteoric growth, and with this new White Label poker License, we anticipate a huge surge of business, especially from the Scandinavian countries and the U.K.," said a RedKings spokesperson.

"We are proud to have achieved the exacting standards that are required for a license of this kind."

The poker site itself isn't the only thing benefiting from the new license. RedKings Poker's player base will now enjoy tax-free poker winnings from many European countries.

Current Gibraltar tax law does not require its online gaming licensees to impose taxes on customer winnings.

However, the players will still need to check that the country or jurisdiction they're playing in doesn't require them to report their winnings for tax purposes.

Another poker site, Poker Loco, recently received a White Label EU Poker License through Gibraltar as well. Poker Loco can also reap the rewards of being an EU licensed site as well as passing the benefits on to its players.
