Phil “MrSweets28” Galfond is apparently looking to close out 2011 with a bang.

Galfond has been very active in the high stakes games on PokerStars this week and logged on again last night and recorded an astounding 6,520 hands.

The Maryland-native stuck mostly to $25/$50 6-Max PLO and faced some stiff competition in Ville Wahlbeck, Jens “Jeans89” Kyllonen and !P0krparty? but in the end it didn’t matter as he spent more time stacking pots than not.

By the time Galfond finally called it a session he was up $144k and the second biggest winner of the evening.

After a swingy few months, Galfond is starting to build some serious momentum heading into the final stages of the year and has won over $200k this week.

Galfond is now up to nearly $400k in profit in 2011. He was not the biggest winner last night, however. That honor went to the still unidentified !P0krparty? who picked up $149k last night.

The hyper aggressive player has shown the capacity for tremendous swings this year but is riding a profit of over $200k in 2011. He could just be spinning it up for the eventual meltdown but right now things look good for the swingy star.

Rounding out the top five winners last night were Deldar182 (+$60k), russ0618 (+$54k) and Kanu7 (+$52k).

Meanwhile on the losing side Mitch “LooneyGerbil” Carle took the most damage. The Australian took a massive $102k hit, which certainly won’t help the $313k he’s amassed in losses this year.

Carle had company on the losing column, however, as fellow high stakes online poker pro Ville Wahlbeck lost $100,800.

U.S. online poker refugee Brian “$tinger 88” Hastings also lost $79k playing from Vancouver last night.

Also amongst the top five losers last night were RivalzZz (-$78k) and Barbara42 (-$76k).
