Full Tilt place to be for tournament action
Full Tilt Poker launched the latest edition of its online poker series this week. Three events have played out and thousands of players have shown up to play for the guaranteed prize pools.
This time around the Full Tilt Online Poker Series has 25 events with $15 million in guaranteed prize pools spread between them. $1 million of that money was already up for grabs with the first event on Wednesday, along with another $500k between the second and third events that played Thursday.
Event 1: $200+$16 No-Limit Hold'em Six-Max
Mike "The Mouth" Matusow got action started for the FTOPS X by hosting this $1 million guaranteed prize pool event on Wednesday. He had plenty of players to keep him company at the tables, as 5,124 opted in to create a $1,024,800 prize pool.
Matusow busted early in the tournament, but some other familiar players managed to land among the 492 who cashed. Chip Jett was among the money winners along with Beth Shak, Adam Schoenfeld, JohnnyBax and Aaron Bartley.
Halfrek continues to make a name for himself in the FTOPS realm as well. After taking down two events in the FTOPS VIII in May, he went deep in this event to land himself in ninth place.
But enough about the players who didn't win. It was davin77 who bested them all for Event 1 and took home the $195,757.30 top prize.
