FTOPS IX begins today

Full Tilt Poker is once again gearing up for another Full Tilt Online Poker Series. The ninth edition of the series begins today with a $1 million guaranteed event hosted by Allen Cunningham.

This time around the FTOPS will feature 25 pro-hosted events, with six of those events offering a $1 million guaranteed prize pool or more. In total the series will offer more than $15 million in prize money spread through the events.

In the FTOPS VIII, most of the prize pools were boosted well over their guarantees, as thousands of players showed up to play. The main event of that series was hosted by Jennifer Harman and drew in 4,750 players to take the $2 million guaranteed prize pool up to $2,370,000.

This time around the main event is already guaranteed to top even that amount, as Full Tilt Poker is offering $2.5 million in the event. Chris "Jesus" Ferguson is hosting the event, which will be a $500+$35 No-Limit Hold'em tournament.

The first $1 million or better guaranteed event kicks off the series today at 9 p.m. Allen Cunningham will host the $200+$16 No-Limit Hold'em tournament. The remaining million-dollar-plus tournaments are scheduled for:

  • Aug. 10 at 6 p.m.: Event 10, $300+$22 No-Limit Hold'em with a $1.5 million guarantee, hosted by Erik Seidel
  • Aug. 11 at 9 p.m.: Event 12, $1,000+$60 No-Limit Hold'em 6-max with a $1.5 million guarantee, hosted by Eli Elezra
  • Aug. 13 at 9 p.m.: Event 17, $300+$22 No-Limit Hold'em 6-max with rebuys with a $1 million guarantee, hosted by Peter Feldman
  • Aug. 16 at 2 p.m.: Event 22, $2,500+$120 Two-Day No-Limit Hold'em with a $2 million guarantee, hosted by Patrik Antonius
  • Aug. 17 at 6 p.m.: Main Event, $500+$35 No-Limit Hold'em with a $2.5 million guarantee, hosted by Chris "Jesus" Ferguson

Other events will also include Limit Hold'em, Omaha, Razz, Stud and H.O.R.S.E. hosted by the likes of Cyndy Violette, Greg Mueller, Andy Bloch, Max Pescatori, Scott Clements, Erick Lindgren and more. For a full schedule of events, visit Full Tilt Poker.

Each FTOPS IX champions will receive the top prize money from the event and will also win a limited edition gold FTOPS jersey and a special FTOPS champion avatar to use on Full Tilt Poker.
