From PartyPoker.com to the WSOP: Let us count the ways
The 2007 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event starts July 6, but by no means is the online poker world biding its time in wait; PartyPoker.com, for example, is already running qualifiers 24 hours a day, with multiple ways of earning a package to the Main Event.
Here's a quick tally:
Option one: WSOP $33 (with re-buys) Super Satellites.
Buy-in is $33, game is No-Limit Hold'em. Payout is one WSOP package for every $11,000 in the prize pool. Action time: Every Tuesday at 6 p.m., and every Thursday at 2 p.m.
Option two: WSOP $220 Super Satellites (with qualifiers).
Daily $3, $6, $11 and $24 satellite sub-qualifiers will all funnel you towards a $220 WSOP Super Satellite on Sundays and Wednesdays at 2 p.m., Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 6 p.m. One $11,000 WSOP Main Event package will then be awarded for every 55 participants.
Option three: "Steps" or "Quick Steps" qualifiers.
For the quick steps, win at $14, qualify for $125. Win at $125, qualify for $1,150. Win $1,150, get WSOP package.
For the regular steps, place first or second at $10, move up to $35. Place first or second, move up to $125. Repeat for $125 and $450, and move to $1,400. First or second at $1,400 will get you to the WSOP.
Finishing third or fourth will keep you in the same step most of the way, but anything lower (until the final stage) will drop you back to the start.
And your end result: Main Event buy-in of $10,000, $1,000 cash and hotel accommodation for the duration of your tournament.
Note: All times listed are (EST).
