Friday filled with fun qualifiers at Pacific Poker
By Sarah Polson
The last Friday of the months leading up to the 2007 World Series of Poker (WSOP) are big ones at Pacific Poker. That's when the site hosts its qualifier awarding a seat to the WSOP Main Event, with the next one coming up this Friday at 4:05 p.m. Pacific Poker time.
Satellites to get into the qualifier are currently running for as little as $2. If you don't win your way in, you can still participate by paying the $125+$10 buy-in.
With the first cards of the Main Event being dealt in July, there won't be that many more chances to win your seat from Pacific Poker. The $135 is worth it if you're the player who walks away with the $12,500 prize package.
The WSOP prize package includes the $10,000 buy-in for the WSOP Main Event as well as money for travel and accommodations.
Perhaps you're not as patient as some and are looking for a prize you can redeem a little sooner than July. In that case, Pacific Poker also has a qualifier on Friday at 4:45 p.m. for the April 888.com Boot Camp for poker players.
The Boot Camp will be April 28-29 in London and will feature Caspar Berry, Nick Wealthall, Padraig Parkinson and Neil Channing as instructors. The first day will focus on poker basics, and the second will deal with more advanced skills.
The camp is designed to improve your game drastically overnight, and for just the $25+$2 buy-in for the qualifier, you could win your place at the camp plus $900 for travel expenses.
The 888.com Boot Camp qualifiers run every Tuesday and Friday.
