Frank Stumpf wins Everest Poker Avalanche final
By Erik Sylven
The Everest Poker Avalanche live finale was played aboard a Costa Cruises ship on the Mediterranean. Germany's Frank Stumpf won the event and sailed away with $233,000 in prize money.
Qualification tournaments for the Everest Poker Avalanche final had been going on for months and 10 players from six countries made it all the way.
Frank Stumpf got off to a rough start, but managed to stage a great comeback to win the tournament. He defeated fellow German Matthias Lotze in the heads-up match for the title.
Jonathan May, Everest Poker property manager, is very pleased with the way the event turned out.
"There was some great gameplay on the cruise ship. It's always good to see our players compete live but this time, they really excelled," May said.
"With this event wrapped up, it's time to get our players started with our Live The Dream promotion. We're giving 10 players the chance to become a poker professional for a year," he added.
