Ted Forrest

Some of you may or may not have heard of the improbable weight loss bet that Ted Forrest made against fellow poker players Mike Matusow and Justin Smith.

Three months ago, Matusow and Smith bet Forrest $2,000,000 (that's million) that Forrest couldn't lose 50 pounds by July 15, 2010. Well, it's not the fifteenth yet but the weigh is in over and done.

Forrest needed to get down to 139 pounds by July 15 to cash in on $2 million but still had a chance to get $1 million if he missed this deadline but made it by September 15th. If he hadn't reached his goal by September, he would have to pay out $150,000.

Proving he's an overachiever, Ted Forrest amazed the poker world, Mike Matusow, Justin Smith, and perhaps even himself by getting it done (and a couple of days early to boot).

Initially, Forrest weighed in at an off-target 139.8. After removing all of his clothes and shoes save for a thin pair of gray shorts, the number was down to 138.

Forrest had achieved what many didn't think was possible and earned himself $2 million in the process.

We're not exactly sure how he cut that much weight so quickly but we're pretty sure it was light on the food and heavy on the unhealthy activities. Fasting, excessive exercise, and lack of fluids come to mind.

After the weigh in, he was heard telling somebody that he wanted to wake Matusow up as soon as possible to validate the bet so he could go get a drink of water.

Matusow and Smith must have nothing better to do with their money in order to make such a stupid bet. All Forrest would have to do in order to win the bet earlier was to cut off his fat head. Forrest should give Matusow the opportunity to win it back by having him be quiet for a whole week. Can't be done.
