Footballers to Star in bwin’s Poker Champion’s Cup

Legends of Real Madrid, Manchester United, Juventus, Olympique de Marseille and RSC Anderlecht will be featured in the upcoming Poker Champion’s Cup by bwin.

Former players from all five teams will act as captains for poker teams in the inaugural event, which is set to take place at Juventus Stadium on May 3-4.

Rafael Martin Vazquez, Enzo Scifo, Stefano Taccono, Manual Amoros and Denis Irwin will all take part in the special tournament, which will be hosted by Party Poker pro Kara Scott.

"I am a real poker enthusiast, so I will be doing my best to support the Marseille team onto victory,” said Manuel Amoros. “Just like football, we will have to work hard for the victory and mix up our tactics, but I'm really looking forward to spending the day with fellow poker lovers.”

"I'm delighted to be involved in the bwin Poker Champions Cup," said Man Utd's Denis Irwin.

"I’m not much of a poker player, so if the guys playing have as much ability on the table as they did on the pitch, it's going to be a tough day. I’m sure the lucky online winners will give them a testing time too! It's an honour to be representing Manchester United and I'm hopeful of reliving my 1999 experiences by clinching another European title!"
