Final table set at the Borgata Poker Classic

Visit World Poker Tour

By Erik Sylven

Joe Simmons is running hot at the Borgata Poker Classic in Atlantic City. On his way to taking the chip lead in the World Poker Tour (WPT) tournament, Simmons flopped a straight flush and proudly showed the hand for everyone to see.

It won't, however, be an easy ride to claim the title for Simmons. He's up against some tough opposition, including former WPT champion John Gale, who is in second place.

Englishman Gale won the $7,800 buy-in 2005 PokerStars.com Caribbean Adventure in 2005, and also won a $2,500 Pot-Limit Hold'em tournament in the 2006 World Series of Poker (WSOP).

Chip counts for the final table that starts at 5:00 p.m. (EST) today:

  • Joe Simmons $5,500,000
  • John Gale, $4,830,000
  • John Hennigan, $3,255,000
  • Chuck Kelly, $1,610,000
  • Michael Sukonik, $1,305,000
  • Jon James Jr., $535,000

You can follow the final table action and check what's happened so far at the Borgata Poker Classic in the Live Tournaments Section.
