FIN-tastic Show: Top 10 Weekly Winners/Losers
It was a busy week for high stakes online poker and Ilari “Ilari FIN” Sahamies fought his way to the top of the charts.
After winning and then losing over $1 million in the previous week the swingy Finn put together a very impressive run over the last seven days.
Sahamies fired off 7,319 hands and ended up winning over half a million dollars. He’s now up by roughly the same amount in 2011, which is a stark contrast to when he was down over $800k earlier in the year.
We could be in for some huge action over the next few weeks as the $200/$400 games started to go off towards the end of this week.
For more information on the high stakes games from the last week be sure to check our online poker stats section. In the meantime check below for a complete breakdown of this week’s top 10 biggest winners and losers.
Top 10 Biggest Winners Online
Ilari Sahamies was easily the biggest winner this week but he wasn’t the only noteworthy Finnish player to make a huge score.
Jens “Jeans89” Kyllonen continued his amazingly consistent year by adding another $248k to his bankroll. Kyllonen is now up by more than $1 million in 2011 and it’s difficult to picture him losing any major portion of that in the near future.
Phil “MrSweets28” Galfond also recorded a nice bounce-back week that saw him pick up $181k. Galfond is once again on track with over $400k profit in 2011.
Meanwhile Brian “$tinger 88” Hastings had a notable first week after relocating from the U.S. to play on PokerStars. He took down $107k and will have a chance to add more in the coming weeks.
Finally Ben “milkybarkid” Grundy cracked the top 10 winners this year. Easily one of the best PLO players in the world, Grundy isn’t as well known for his performance in the nosebleed games but he can apparently beat the games when he feels like playing them.

Top 10 Biggest Losers Online
Andreas “Skjervoy” Torbergsen has had the best, most consistent, year of any online pro but you wouldn’t know it from the last week.
Torbergsen got absolutely rocked in the 6-Max games towards the end of the week that included Ilari Sahamies and Phil Galfond.
The Norwegian is still the year’s biggest winner on PokerStars with just under $1.5 million but Rui “PepperoniF” Cao is hot on his heels with $1.43 million.
Close behind Torbergsen was fellow Scandi Viktor “Isildur1” Blom. After taking more than $1 million from Ilari Sahamies last week, Blom had some serious problems getting his game going.
Over seven days the young online legend lost $439k, although he’s still holding on to a profit of $600k this year.
Meanwhile Gavin “gavz101” Cochrane continued his downward spiral. Formerly the biggest winner of the year, Cochrane peaked at nearly $2 million prior to the WSOP but has been steadily losing since then and is now down to just $1 million in profit.
