Fans can play poker against NASCAR celebrities for charity
By Sarah Polson
The second annual Going Full Throttle Poker Challenge will take place Nov. 9 at the Fort McDowell Casino near Scottsdale, Ariz. starting at 7 p.m. The tournament is a collaboration between Braun Racing and the casino for NASCAR fans to play poker against some of their favorite NASCAR celebrities for charity.
The Texas Hold'em tournament will have a guaranteed prize pool of $30,000, and will feature drivers Jason Leffler and Ron Hornaday Jr., NASCAR Busch Series team owner Todd Braun, and other NASCAR celebrities.
Proceeds from the tournament will go to the Victory Junction Gang which is a facility that provides camp sessions year-round for children ages 7 to 15 suffering from life-threatening and chronic illnesses. The Victory Junction Gang gives those children a safe and medically sound environment to experience fun, empowering camp activities.
This 72-acre camp is located in North Carolina on donated land. The facility can accommodate up to 125 children per session or 32 families per family weekend, and is run solely on donations from the community.
