Eye of the tiger76 rallies to win WCOOP Event 16
Player tiger76 from the United States made a great comeback to win Event 16, $320 Omaha Hi-Lo, of the 2007 World Championship of Online Poker at PokerStars. tiger76 started the heads-up battle against player GotGame76 as a major underdog, but turned things around and took home $61,419 in prize money.
With three players left in WCOOP Event 16 a deal was made, assuring the dominant chip leader GotGame76 a minimum of $68,974, while tiger76, in second place at the time, was guaranteed $47,419 and third-placed INKO05 $46,784. The players left $14,000 and the WCOOP bracelet to play for.
INKO05 busted out in third place, and when the heads-up battle started GotGame76 put the pressure on tiger76 right away. Things looked bad for tiger76, but after winning some big pots he took command of the tournament.
In the final hand, tiger76 again found himself in bad shape, but an ace on the river gave him the wheel, and that was enough to scoop the pot and win the WCOOP event.
