Everest team achieves tournament success

Voitto Rintala is running scary good as an Everest Poker Team member.
By Sarah Polson
The Everest Poker Team is approaching the halfway point of their year-long adventure as sponsored pros, and so far they've been making their mark.
The Everest Poker Team is made up of 11 members who were chosen from a pool of 200 Everest Poker players in the Live the Dream contest. The players were chosen for their poker skills as well as on the basis of their interviews and blogs and on how they showcased their personalities for a panel of judges in Vienna.
Since being chosen, several of the Everest Poker Team members have found success. Four of the 11 members cashed in the World Series of Poker this year.
Voitto Rintala, who is also a Finnish rocker, made the final table of Event 52 to win $57,000. Japan's Kim Wooka made her way into the money of the Main Event, taking home $23,160, plus Dutch members Steven van Zadelhoff and Daan Slutter earned $12,814 and $23,160 respectively at the WSOP.
The team continued its success during the recent PokerStars.com European Poker Tour stop in Barcelona.
Maria Maceiras, from Spain, was the top-placing woman of the tournament, cashing in for €17,300. Rintala also earned another cash, finishing in 17th place for €24,700.
The other Everest Poker Team members are Pablo Ubierna, Simone Coppari, Leroy Soesman, Stefanie Bergener, Cristiano Blanco, Otto Richard and Romain Despres.
Part of the team will be making their next stop in London for the next EPT event, while some of the others will head across the Atlantic to Niagara Falls for the next World Poker Tour event.
Its team members aren't the only poker players at Everest Poker who could be going to a live event. The poker site also hosts online qualifiers for events all around the world, including ones on the EPT circuit and on the Spanish Poker Tour.
