The €5,000 main event of the European Poker Tour (EPT) tournament in Dortmund kicks off at Casino Hohensyborg at 3 p.m. (CET) today. Eight players in the first ever EPT event to be held in Germany will be representing Everest Poker.
The interest in EPT Dortmund has been tremendous and the 500 seats to the main event sold out quickly. In the last few weeks, online satellites have been the only option for those who want to take a trip to Germany and play some top-class poker.
Everest Poker has been hosting such satellites, and today released the online nicknames of the players who will be representing the poker site in Dortmund: tigris95, Memorax, Testo_Ponto, Barsundance, Foufoufoufou, Sunni, lalanco1 and Swen99.
"The response to this event was unprecedented and we're excited to be able to send some of our best players to it," said Jonathan May, Everest Poker property manager.
The players come from all over Europe, representing France, Italy, Switzerland, as well as Germany itself.
You can follow the action from Casino Hohensyborg here at PokerListings.com. Live updates, exclusive interviews and blogs will be available in the Live Tournaments Section.
It's too late to win a seat to EPT Dortmund, but there are other big live tournament qualifiers running at Everest Poker. Several daily World Poker Tour (WPT) Paris satellites are currently available.
