Everest Poker's top players rake in tournament cash
Everest Poker's top 200 earners got exclusive access to a $5,000 Limit freeroll tournament for players Tuesday.
During October, the company tracked the Summit Points of players in its online poker room and offered the top competitors a spot at the tournament.
The top winner, who goes by the nickname Maastonakki, picked up $1,500 in prize money. Player Vahagn placed second for $950, Champ44 won $600, guldflip earned $425 and Persseo brought in $325 from the tournament.
The event was a way of showing the company's appreciation to its Hold'em players, said Everest Poker's property manager Jonathan May. He added that the company is already gearing up for its next freeroll event - a $7,500 tournament early next month.
To get in on the action, players must accumulate Summit Points in the poker room. The system gives each player at a table one Summit Point for every $1 the room collects in rake. The room offers double Summit Points to the first two poker players at a table for the duration of their game.
