Everest Poker doubles up for European Cup
By Erin Warner
What better way to celebrate the second annual Everest Poker European Cup than to double both the number of finalists and the prize pool?
The second-ever freeroll tournament will bring together 200 amateur poker players who'll compete live for a €100,000 prize pool.
The event is open to all European players who qualify through Everest Poker's free online tournaments running from May to August.
Each player who qualifies receives a €1,100 prize package that includes a €500 seat at the European Cup, three nights accommodation and €300 credited to your Everest Poker account for travel expenses.
Residents of Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Sweden, Spain, Belgium, Norway, Switzerland, Austria and Portugal will all be able to qualify through live events. However, players can only compete in offline tournaments in the country in which they live.
Customers can register through their player account on the site, provided they have accumulated the required 10 Summit Points for the freeroll.
The online tournaments run each week at the same day and time from May to August for the price of 10 Summit Points. All European online tournaments run every Friday at 7 p.m. (GMT), with weekly satellites leading to the online qualifier on the last Friday of each month. There, five seats to the European Cup will be awarded.
Residents of Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom can play in country-specific weekly satellites and a monthly online qualifier. Those hailing from Greece, Finland, Hungary and Poland can register directly for one of two online qualifiers offered by the site.
