EuroCity Poker Tour begins Friday

Big stacks are good

The EuroCity Poker Tour, Titan Poker's first sponsored land-based tournament, begins Friday in Madrid, Spain.

The Madrid Open features a €1,000 buy-in and will take place at the Casino Gran Madrid. The tournament is open to 200 players, and Titan Poker players will be making up at least 66 of those 200.

The poker site ran online qualifiers for the event starting back in February up through the end of April, and dished out prize packages to the ECPT Madrid Open to 66 players.

Each of them won a $3,000 package that includes the buy-in to the Madrid Open plus money for flights, three nights' accommodation, two meals per day and a cocktail party.

The players from Titan Poker are coming from all over Europe as well as, in one case, from Canada to take on the EuroCity event.

"Thanks to Titan Poker I have been able to cultivate my passion," said Massimiliano Assini, an online qualifier from Italy. "I particularly enjoy playing at Titan Poker, one of the safest, most serious and reliable poker rooms."

In Madrid, Assini will get to put his passion to use to turn his prize package into some cash. There is potential for a €200,000 prize pool if the tournament meets its player cap.

Each player will start with $8,000 in chips, and the tournament will have a 60-minute blind structure.

If the tournament gets up to the 200 players allowed, the prize pool will be paid out as follows:

  • 1st: 27%
  • 2nd: 15.7%
  • 3rd: 11%
  • 4th: 9%
  • 5th: 7.3%
  • 6th: 6%
  • 7th: 5%
  • 8th: 4%
  • 9th: 3%
  • 10th: 2%
  • 11th-20th: 1%

The Madrid Open is only one of many live tournaments online poker players have access to at Titan Poker. The poker site is also offering qualifiers for the World Poker Showdown Ocean World in the Dominican Republic, the Asian Poker Tour event in Manila, and the 2008 World Series of Poker.

There are even more reasons to play at Titan Poker for players. Titan Poker has exclusive WSOP* seats as well as monthly $5,000 freerolls for players.

Head to Titan Poker for more information about these and other promotions at the poker site.
