EPT Releases Season 7 Schedule

EPT 7 will include a new beginning in Tallinn, Estonia and a new ending in a place yet to be named.

The PokerStars.com European Poker Tour released a Season 7 schedule today chock full of surprises.

Rather than the traditional September start in Barcelona, the EPT's seventh season will kick off in Tallinn, Estonia Aug. 11-16 with a €4,250 main event.

More than 300 played in the first PokerStars Baltic Festival in Tallinn this past October and tour organizers are hoping the luxurious Swissotel and a summer date in the region will help the event become a big draw.

Season 7 will also see the EPT return to new stops in Vilamoura, Portugal Aug. 28-Sept. 2, EPT Snowfest in Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Austria Mar. 20-25 and Berlin, Germany Apr. 5-10.

Plus, staples of the tour remain, including Barcelona, Prague, Deauville, San Remo and Copenhagen.

But while larger events like EPT London and the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure also remain on the schedule, it appears the Grand Final may be looking for a new home outside of Monte Carlo.

Dates for the San Remo stop on the tour have yet to be released and PokerStars is promising details on both the location and dates of the Season 7 Grand Final soon.

"The EPT just gets bigger and better every season and it shows the passion and enthusiasm players feel for our events," said EPT CEO and founder John Duthie. "Season 6 had a thousand more players than in Season 5 and we expect the numbers to keep on growing."

With a combined prize pool of well over €56 million the EPT is now the world's richest poker tour.

Online satellites for EPT Tallinn are set to launch on PokerStars.com in mid-June.
