EPT London: Juanda, Bowker Lead Final

John Juanda
John Juanda: A big fan of the UK.

John Juanda continued his love affair with London, making the final table of the 2010 PokerStars EPT London main event Sunday.

Two years ago, the four-time WSOP bracelet winner won the WSOPE main event and finished runner-up in the EPT London High Roller event, earning over $2 million in a little over a week in the Englush capital.

Now, the respected pro will head into the final eight at EPT London in a virtual dead heat for the lead with two-time WCOOP bracelet winner Kyle “kwob20” Bowker.

Both players built stacks over the seven million chip mark and at this point the rest of the final table isn’t even close.

That group includes PokerStars.net NAPT Venetian winner Tom Marchese, two-time WPT final tablist Per Ummer and after making fourth in Berlin, Pole Artur Wasek will be making his second EPT final in the past six months in London.

Relatively inexperienced Scott David Vamplew, Brazilian businessman Fernando Brito and Canadian stock trader Kayvan Payman round out the group.

A total of 848 players entered the event creating a £4,112,800 prize pool and making EPT London the largest tournament in UK history.

The final eight will play for the £900,000 first prize Monday.

Here’s how the stacks look coming in:

1 Kyle Bowker 7,165,000

2 John Juanda 7,075,000

3 David Vamplew 3,670,000

4 Artur Wasek 2,250,000

5 Tom Marchese 1,480,000

6 Kayvan Payman 1,295,000

7 Per Ummer 1,245,000

8 Fernando Brito 1,100,000
