eCOGRA network launches responsible gaming initiative
eCOGRA has developed a major responsible gaming initiative aimed at under-age and problem gamblers.
eCommerce and Online Gaming, Regulation and Assurance (eCOGRA), a self-regulatory organization that has bestowed its seal of approval on over 55 major online casinos and poker rooms, including PokerRoom.com, has created a new set of regulations aimed at barring under-age players from casinos and rooms, as well as protecting addicted gamblers from damaging themselves financially.
The initiative includes the prominent placement of an extensive and visible Responsible Gaming section in each of the network's casinos and rooms, the training of casino and room staff on recognition and handling of addicted gamblers, the use of advanced ID verification technology, and the prohibition of marketing promotions to problem gamblers and of targeting teens in promotional literature.
Please see eCOGRA for further details.
