Dwan Takes a Beating in Massive Session

Tom Dwan
After a tough weekend, Tom Dwan remains up over $4.1 million on the year.

Tom “durrrr” Dwan sat for one of his longest sessions of the year Saturday night, playing over 7,800 hands of $200/$400 No-Limit Hold’em with jungleman12.

The session, which lasted for just under ten hours, took place across nine $200/$400 NLHE tables with the two playing the majority of the session on a total of eight tables at once.

The largest pot of the match went to jungleman12 who made $281,753 after spiking the nut straight on the turn. Despite the river pairing the board, his straight was still good and jungleman12 was more than willing move all in. Dwan made the $95k call and the pot was shipped across the table.

By the end of the epic session, Dwan had played a total 7,874 hands, losing a total $613,923 to jungleman12 and nearly doubling the unknown player's profit so far this year.

Dwan, who had been on somewhat of a win streak leading up to the weekend, actually started playing on Saturday with a $500/$1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha session against Phil Ivey. The two Full Tilt pros played for a total of 430 hands over which Ivey banked $246,538.

In total on the day, Dwan lost $860,461 and would bring thoses losses up to over $1 million over the next 48 hours.

The losses drop Dwan to around $4.1 million in profit on the year, although he's still in the number one slot.

Ivey, who has only played a total 16,095 hands this year currently sits in third place with $1.7 million in profits.

Below are the three largest pots between Dwan and jungleman12. For more hand replays, including the $295k pot between Ivey and Dwan, head to our online poker stats page.
