The Dusk Till Dawn poker club, in the works since last fall, will officially open its doors Thursday and will kick off the festivities with several tournaments. Two of those events, both £100 No-Limit Hold'em tournaments on Thursday and Friday, are already full with a player cap at 108 runners.

To top off the opening ceremonies, a £500 No-Limit Hold'em event that should draw some of the best players in England to the felt will be played on Saturday. The number of players for this event is also being capped at 108. Sunday will also have a £100 No-Limit tournament on the slate.

The marketing director of Dusk Till Dawn, Rob Yong, commented on the opening, "It's been a long struggle but it's been worth it. The club is looking great and I know the poker community is going to love it."

Even poker pro Simon Trumper, who will serve as the Live Poker Director for the club, seemed pleased with the numbers the club is expecting over the weekend.

"I never had any doubts that we would sell all our seats for the opening weekend. We can't rest on our laurels, though, as the real challenge is to make Dusk Till Dawn the best club in Europe and keep players coming through our door over the years to follow."

Dusk Till Dawn is also making it easier for players to get in on their live tournaments through their online poker site, DTD Poker. In a unique arrangement, Dusk Till Dawn has made it possible for people not only to register but also to buy-in online for their live events at the club.

All a player has to do is register as they would for an online tournament, turn up on the day of the live event with photo identification and take their seat. This will become a regular feature with players being able to buy-in to tournaments in advance on the online poker client.

With the opening of the club, Dusk Till Dawn will become the largest poker room in Europe, with 45 tables in operation. It will be the only operation for Dusk Till Dawn, but it should be more than enough for it to become a popular destination for poker players from around the world.

The club had received over 3,000 membership requests (required for entrance into the club) before it opened, presaging great success along the lines of California poker room operations such as the Commerce Casino and the Bicycle Club.

Dusk Till Dawn is located in Nottingham on Redfield Way and will operate, as the name suggests, from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m. (GMT) from Thursdays through Sundays. If there is demand, the club may expand opening hours to other days of the week.
