chips and cards

Duplicate Poker, which touts itself as a legal online poker site in the United States, has added cash games to its list of offerings, and to celebrate, the poker site is promoting a happy hour for its affiliate players July 25-27.

"At Duplicate Poker we listen closely to our affiliates and players and are continuously improving our product to offer players the best possible online poker experience," said the poker site in a press release.

"We have now added ring games to our growing repertoire and the initial response has been strong. Because the ring games are played in the patented Duplicate format, they are legal in 39 U.S. states."

This weekend, poker players will get an extra bonus for playing in those cash games as well. Each evening July 25-27 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. ET, players who participate in the games will get 50% rakeback.

More players may be heading to the cash and tournament tables at Duplicate Poker in the near future as the poker site steps up its advertising in the United States and Canada.

Between now and the end of the year, the poker site plans to invest several million dollars in radio and TV advertising.

Commercials are already running several times a day during "The Howard Stern Show" on the Sirius Satellite Network. Stern recorded the 60-second commercials describing and promoting the poker site.

Duplicate Poker also has television commercials running several times a week during NBC's Poker After Dark as well as in select U.S. markets during the 2008 World Series of Poker, which began broadcasting this week on ESPN.
