Dial in for mobile World Series of Poker

By Erin Warner

The World Series of Poker is at your fingertips with a new mobile game available on Nokia cellular phones.

The mobile communications leader has partnered with games publisher Glu Mobile to deliver Texas Hold'em, among other diversions, to cell phones on the network.

First up for launch is the World Series of Poker Texas Hold'em game. In it, players compete in an eight-person multiplayer match against other mobile gamers.

The new product also lets players try their hands against WSOP champion Chris "Jesus" Ferguson and pro Scott Fischman.

It's just one of several games, applications and wallpapers currently being developed and published on a multi-year, worldwide alliance with WSOP owner, Harrah's Entertainment, Inc.

"The combination of Nokia's hardware and mobile platform vision and expertise along with Glu's top-rated, quality mobile games will deliver consumers a truly unique, immersive entertainment experience," said Glu Mobile's marketing director Kristian Segerstråle.
