Deeb Wins Again; Mercier, Galfond Chop in SCOOP
The 2012 SCOOP is quickly becoming a story of Viktor "Isildur1" Blom and Shaun Deeb as Deeb matched Isildur’s two titles with a second win of his own yesterday.
Deeb, who won the $2k Limit Stud event on Wednesday, notched his second win in the $2k Triple Stud event by defeating a stacked final table that included Eugene Katchalov, Stephen “stevie444” Chidwick and Brian “$tinger 88” Hastings.
With just 68 players in the field, Deeb “only” scooped $44,200 for the win but took over the top spot on the 2012 SCOOP Player of the Series leaderboard and became the first-ever three-time SCOOP title winner.
Deeb now has 430 leaderboard points in the 2012 SCOOP to give him a big lead over second place joacowalter from Uruguay with 275. Isildur1 one is in third with 250 points.

Katchalov and Deeb also managed to make the final table of the $2k No-Limit Hold’em Shootout earlier in the day but fell out in eighth and seventh respectively.
Pro Andrew Badecker won that event for $60,000 while Jason Wheeler finished fourth.
To make things even more interesting, both Deeb and Blom are also in the top 10 in chips (with 53 left) in SCOOP event #20, $2,100 No-Limit Hold'em, heading into its final day tomorrow.
Mercier, Galfond and Gardner Three-Way Chop PLO Six-Max
In another pro-heavy final table yesterday, Jason Mercier, Phil Galfond and Julian Gardner (runner-up in 2002 WSOP Main Event) chopped the $1k PLO Six-Max event with each taking home about $114k.
Stopping play three-handed to talk about an equal split, the three realized by rule some money had to be left to play for so they decided on $4k.
They immediately went to a flip to decide the champion. Gardner won the flip, the extra $4k and the SCOOP title.
Former November Niner Joe “subiime” Cheong also made the final table but busted out in fifth for $40k.
