Dave Foley, host of "Celebrity Poker Showdown," is signed on to emcee the Vincent Lecavalier Texas Hold'em Celebrity Poker Tournament Sept. 7 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Florida. The event will raise money for the VL4 Foundation which benefits disadvantaged and chronically ill youth in the Tampa Bay area.
Several celebrities are scheduled to play in the tournament including Tampa Bay Lightning star Vincent Lecavalier and some of his teammates, namely Brad Richards, Martin St. Louis, and Tim Taylor. National Hockey League Hall-of-Fame member Phil Esposito, boxer Antonio Tarver, and former NBA player Matt Geiger will also be playing, and so will poker pro Daniel Negreanu.
There's expected to be a prize pool of at least $45,000 for the tournament and a $10,000 top prize. The last celebrity left in the tournament will also receive a $10,000 donation to the charity of their choice.
Money isn't the only prize in this game. Players who knock out a celebrity will earn autographed memorabilia. The evening will also include a VIP/Players Party, and a Wild Card Party with entertainment, a silent auction, a raffle, gaming, and more.
The buy-in for the tournament is $500, and players have unlimited $100 re-buys for the first hour of the tournament. For more information or to register, visit www.vincentlecavalier.com.
