Daily 3-Bet: Timex Squats, Ortiz Punches In, Poker's Mr. Dreamy

Mike McDonald
You don't get this handsome by sitting.

The PokerListings Daily 3-Bet is a pair of gullwing doors, a working flux capacitor and all the juice needed to hit 88 mph on the afternoon poker news speedometer.

Got a tip for a future 3-Bet? Leave us a note in the comments and we'll check it out.

Today in the 3-Bet we find Mike "Timex" McDonald starting off his 2015 PCA with some valuable air squats, Tito Ortiz steps up to the felt for Shark Cage 2 and poker's Top 5 dreamboats for 2014 are named.

1) Timex Squats for $$

He's back at the PCA in the Bahamas, hoping to do one better than his thrilling runner-up in the Main Event last year, and Mike "Timex" McDonald already has a plan for earning his ME buy-in:

300 air squats in an hour for $10k during an orbit in the SHR.

Want to see how it turns out? Tune in right here now for live stream coverage straight from the $100k Super High Roller!

Spolier alert: Mike McDonald looks like he's very good at doing squats.

2) Tito Ortiz, Ronaldo in Heat 1 for Shark Cage 2

Remember yesterday when we showcased Griffin Benger's $1m win in Season 1 of PokerStars' Shark Cage and said we'd be a-ok to see a Season 2?

Shark Cage
It's back.

Our wish has been granted as filming for the next season begun at the Atlantic Resort in the Bahamas today. At the table for Heat 1 this around:

  • PokerStars pro Jake Cody
  • UFC Crusher Tito Ortiz
  • Soccer Legend Ronaldo
  • Gregarious Brit Sam Grafton
  • Chess Grandmaster Jen Shahade
  • Online qualifier Conor

We're intrigued already.

Footage, of course, is a long way from airing but it's good to know we'll have some more cage time to look forward to in 2015.

Also, we hope, more of Miss Finland Sara Chafak, who stole the show in Season 1.

Mike McDonald
Dream a little dream.

3) Who is Your Mr. Dreamy?

Speaking of Mike McDonald ...

Did you know in some circles - specifically the editorial staff of MacauBillionairePoker, it seems - he's been named Poker's Mr. Dreamy 2014?

We didn't. But now we do. And we're not sure how we feel about it.

Hard to resist those increasingly firm hamstrings, we suppose.

We've seen so many of these lists about women in poker, though, that it's great to see the tables turned back on the men for a change.

The rest of the Top 5 here, according to MacauBillionairePoker.com, including German heartthrob Ole Schemion and a few picks that might surprise you.
