In today’s Daily 3-Bet we’ll take a look at Jason Koon crushing Super Tuesday, a UFC gone wrong for Bovada and Ali Nejad getting a new show on HLNTV.

1) Jason Koon Shreds PokerStars Super Tuesday for $111k

Jason “jakoon1985” Koon just found his buy-in for the next $100k Super High Roller.

The American outlasted 591 players to win Super Tuesday for $111,699 on PokerStars yesterday.

Koon had to get by ultra competitive grinders Jason Wheeler, Martin Kozlov and Victor Talamini to claim the title.

With the victory Koon, who’s currently grinding from Vancouver, BC, moves to over $3.6 million in lifetime online tournament earnings including outright wins in SCOOP, the Sunday Warm-Up and Sunday 500.

Of course Koon also has $2.7 million in live tournament earnings and it sounds like more live tournaments are in the near future:

2) Improbable UFC Outcome Costs Bovada $1 Million

So the latest UFC didn’t exactly go the way Bovada.lv would have preferred.

Underdogs in the event went 10-1, including the title match where Frank Mir knocked out Antonio Silva.

A lowly parlay for just $4 ended up paying out $85,000 and several $1 bets paid out $25,000. There were more than a dozen similar bets that paid out over $10,000 each.

In other words it was good for long-shot gamblers and bad for Bovada.lv, which also runs a poker site.

Even worse for the Sportsbook is that they don’t see any way to get their money back. Bovada.lv manager Kevin Bradley told ESPN:

"We're not getting this money back from the people that won. The type of bettor that wins these bets throws a small amount of money on all the favorites or all the underdogs to try to get rich. Well, I guess it worked.”

Despite the setback Bovada.lv is hoping to make back some of the cash in bets on the massive Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao fight on May 2.

3) Ali Nejad Stars in The Social Life

Former high-stakes poker pro Ali Nejad has always been a social guy but he’s taking it to another level.

The voice of numerous poker shows including Poker After Dark, WPT Alpha8 and various Poker Road productions will star in a new HLNTV show called The Social Life.

In the show Nejad connects with various followers on Social Media while traveling around the globe.
