The PokerListings Daily 3-Bet is a fantastical carriage ride through the whimsical mid-afternoon poker news world.
You can always make suggestions for future 3-Bet pieces in the comments section below.
In today’s Daily 3-Bet we’ll take a look at Rick Salomon allegedly recording one of the biggest poker wins ever, a new Japanese poker star and an insane hand from WPT Borgata.
1) Pamela Anderson: Rick Salomon Won $40m from Andy Beal
Take this one with a grain of salt but Rick Salomon’s ex-wife Pamela Anderson is alleging he won $40 million from billionaire banker Andy Beal last year.
It’s not completely out of question considering Beal’s famous heads-up sessions against Phil Ivey and The Corporation where he lost $16 million back in 2006.
Anderson is apparently unhappy with the divorce settlement from Salomon and is also alleging that he lied about where he resides to avoid income tax on his poker winnings.
The timeline seems to work as Todd Brunson also claimed a massive $5 million win from Andy Beal last year.
Salomon and Anderson have had an on-again, off-again relationship since 2007. Most recently they remarried in 2014 only to have Anderson file for divorce two days after Salomon won $2.8 million for finishing fourth in the 2014 WSOP $1 million buy-in Big One for One Drop.
2) PokerStars Announces Model Matsukawa Yuika as Brand Ambassador
Wait, didn’t we do this yesterday?
Apparently PokerStars is on a poker sponsorship spree bringing Japanese model Matsukawa Yuika into the fold.
Alright to be fair Yuika will be a brand ambassador not a member of Team PokerStars Online like Liliya “Liay5” Novikova, who was announced yesterday.
So who is Yuika? She’s appeared in a variety of movies, TV shows and magazines and has a very active presence on social media.
Yuika is hardly the only celeb on the current PokerStars roster with Rafa Nadal and Ronaldo also among the brand ambassadors.
Of course Japan is a burgeoning poker market and Yuika will join Naoya Kihara and Kosei Ichinose on the PokerStars team.
3) Kane Kalas Bamboozles Aaron Overton at WPT Borgata
We forgot about this sick, sick hand between Kane Kalas and Aaron Overton at WPT Borgata.
We’ll try not to spoil everything for you but it includes suck, dealer error and re-suck. One for the ages.
Our favorite part might just be Vince Van Patten spinning in circles at 2:16 at the sheer incredulousness of the hand.
