Daily 3-Bet: Rounders 2, Alpha 8, Pius + the Cash-Game Kings
The PokerListings Daily 3-Bet is a prop-plane drop-off, an umbrella-ed cocktail in hand and sand between the toes for your afternoon poker news commute.
Have something you think should be featured in the 3-Bet? Let us know in the comments.
Today in the 3-Bet we find Edward Norton hinting at the potential for a long-awaited Rounders 2, the WPT Alpha 8 gears up for another high roller affair and Pius Heinz resurfaces in a big game in Rozvadov, Czech Republic.
1) Norton: "I Think There's a Possibility"
The rumors have been floating around forever now but actor Edward Norton somewhat confirmed things were coming together for Rounders 2 in a new appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman this week.
Not already "in development," as some may think, but on the table at least. Also: who knew Letterman was such a fan of the original?
He's almost more excited about the idea than we are. And we are very excited. Clip below (they get into it right off the top):
2) $100k WPT Alpha8 St. Kitts Goes Tomorrow
Speaking of heavy hitters getting together around a poker table again...
The WPT Alpha 8 series has touched down in the tropical paradise of St. Kitts for its 2014 finale and the lineup is expected to be solid.
Host Bill Perkins is in. Jason Mercier is on his way. Jeff Gross is in, which means Antonio Esfandiari and Phil Laak can't be far off.
Dan Colman? Ike Haxton? Michael Mizrachi? Noah Schwartz? If the big guns aren't in Prague already they'll be here tomorrow for $100k ready and you can follow the action with the WPT Live Updates.
Location doesn't look half bad either, does it?
3) Pius Heinz Plays €100/€200 at King's Casino
Remember 2011 WSOP World Champion Pius Heinz?
We didn't even know he played poker anymore but he's made a rare appearance at a streamed cash game (now on replay) from the King's Casino in Rozvadov, Czech Republic.
Stakes are big, too, at €100/€200 with casino owner Leon Tsoukernik in the game and outspoken German PLO king Jan-Pater Jachtmann in too.
We have no idea what they're saying, but the game does look juicy. Check the footage from Day 1 (we assume it'll go tomorrow too) below.
