Daily 3-Bet: Poker Town USA, Underrated Sauce123, JCarver Snaps

The PokerStars Run It Up Rumble in Atlantic City.

The PokerListings Daily 3-Bet is some much needed fertilizer for the barren mid-afternoon poker news world garden.

You can make your own suggestions for future 3-Bet pieces in the comments section below.

In today’s Daily 3-Bet we’ll take a look at Atlantic City’s poker renaissance, the supremely talented Ben “Sauce123” Sulsky and a feisty Jason “JCarver” Somerville.

1) Atlantic City = Poker Town

Trump Taj Mahal
Poker mecca?

If you’re a poker fan living in New Jersey right now you’ve got to be pretty darn pleased.

Not only can you play on 888poker, PokerStars and PartyPoker but each site has been running numerous promotions in the state.

PokerStars is the latest site to start pushing NJ hard with the Run It Up Rumble at Resorts Casino this week.

Jason Somerville, Liv Boeree, Jen Shahade, Chris Moneymaker and more were all on hand to play a tournament benefiting autism and raise awareness about poker.

That wasn’t the only notable poker event to happen this week as the Taj Mahal, immortalized by poker flick Rounders, finally re-opened its poker room in Atlantic City.

It was enough to catch the attention of The New York Daily Times who published a piece titled, “Poker returns to the Atlantic City boardwalk”.

Good times.

2) Ben “Sauce123” Sulsky Up $500k in 7 Days

Ben Sulsky
He's so good, guys.

You know who’s really good at poker and ridiculously underrated?

That would be Ben “Sauce123” Sulsky.

Sauce has flown under the radar in the poker because he doesn’t play live very often and isn’t much of a TV pro but he’s an absolute monster online.

It’s hard to find high-stakes action online these days but Sulsky somehow racked up half a million in profit on PokerStars over the last seven days, according to HighstakesDB.

A great deal of the profit came from Russian poker star Alex “joiso” Kostritsyn in $1k/$2k 8-game.

HighstakesDB estimates that Sulsky is up approximately $4.9m in stakes $50/$100 and above since the site started tracking him in late 2010.

Players like Tom “durrrr” Dwan and Viktor “Isildur1” Blom get the lion’s share of coverage but Sauce is likely a far more profitable player online.

3) The Boom Hand That Broke JCarver

We’re worried about Jason “JCarver” Somerville.

He’s been hopping all over the place to take part in the Resorts Run-It Up Rumble and stream countless hours of SCOOP action on Twitch.

Of course the entire time Somerville has been busy interacting with his fans and analyzing their hands for them via the PokerStars BOOM Hand Replayer.

Well earlier this week it appeared JCarver hit his breaking point over this questionable hand submitted by JBHinfinity.
