And George Clooney!

The PokerListings Daily 3-Bet helps everyone get paid when it comes to entertaining mid-afternoon poker news.

You can always plug suggestions for future 3-Bet pieces into the comments section below.

In today’s Daily 3-Bet we’ll take a look at the WSOP flattening the Main Event prize pool, the new American Poker Awards nominations and the best darn Super Bowl poker party.

1) WSOP Flattens Main Event Payouts, Huge Final Table Bubble

A Whole Lotta Cash
Money for everyone!

After careful consideration the WSOP announced yesterday they are switching the payout structure so at least 1,000 players will get paid instead of the eye-popping $10 million figure up top. You can learn more here.

It’s widely considered a positive move for recreational players, which has been applauded by numerous pros including Daniel Negreanu.

One interesting side effect of the change? A massive final table bubble.

There was already a considerable amount of value for making the final table but if you use the new payout structure on the 2014 Main Event numbers then you'll notice 10th place would have been $550,000 but ninth jumps all the way up to $1 million.

That's a $450,000 pay jump for those keeping track at home.

Can't wait to be there this summer when someone misses a shot at millions and the exposure of making the final table. Tilt level = 11.

2) Dan Colman, Ty Stewart and WSOP Main Event Up for GPI Awards

The GPI has released the nominations for the 2014 American Poker Awards with a rather large nine categories.

You can peruse the entire list here but it’s certainly a comprehensive one with poker players, media and even tournaments represented.

Dan Colman is the only pro up for two awards as he’s represented in the Breakout Player of the Year and Tournament Performance of the Year.

Also up for an award? The WSOP Main Event.

Yep the 40+ year-old legendary poker tournament is up against the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open and WPT Montreal.

In all seriousness there are some great people up for awards including Brad Willis who penned the heartfelt Stages/Never Stop Fighting at the WSOP this summer.

3) Clooney, Ivey, The Roots to Take Part in All-in Poker Party

Phil Ivey
The Phil Ivey experience.

What do George Clooney, Phil Ivey, The Roots and Casimigos Tequila all have in common?

We can’t imagine all that much but they will all be featured prominently in the upcoming weekend-long All-In Super Bowl Party in Phoenix.

The weekend starts with The Roots playing an exclusive show on Friday, a poker tournament on Saturday and of course a tailgate party on Sunday.

It’s all for a good cause as the proceeds from the entire weekend will be going to benefit ALL IN Cause.

There will be plenty of prizes up for grabs including “The Phil Ivey Experience” which includes poker training and a night out with three of your closest friends and Ivey himself.

Poker pros Chris Moneymaker, Vanessa Rousso, Phil Hellmuth are set to appear in the tournament as well.

You can buy into the poker game directly for $1,000 although the entire weekend will cost considerably more.

We’re curious if Clooney will actually play in the poker tournament because he seemed like kind of a fish in Michael Clayton and art always imitates life right?
