Daily 3-Bet: Kid Poker Twitches, 4/15/2011, Jacob Jeopardy! X3
The PokerListings Daily 3-Bet is a fresh new poker hand dealt straight to the hands of poker fans hungry for some mid-afternoon poker news.
You can always make 3-Bet suggestions in the comments section below.
In today’s Daily 3-Bet we’ll look at Daniel Negreanu going live, Black Friday’s fourth anniversary and Alex Jacob’s Jeopardy! domination.
1) Daniel Negreanu Joins Twitch.tv
Well, this whole "poker players streaming on Twitch.tv" is apparently here to stay.
Daniel Negreanu, arguably the most popular poker player in the world, officially debuted on Twitch last night (with some help from Twitch reg Jamie “PokerStaples” Staples).
Kid Poker’s legion of fans had no problem following him to Twitch.
Within a couple of hours he already had 4,626 viewers (for comparison the second-highest poker streamer had 320).
So how was the stream? Pretty good.
You can watch a re-stream of it here. Negreanu’s fast-talking nature translates pretty well on Twitch.
He talked about Ivey’s edge-sorting case, legal online poker in the USA, his bad luck on High Stakes Poker and more.
The only downside is that Negreanu only plays on PokerStars and since he lives in Las Vegas that means his streams are, for now, only play money. He did say he'll be in Toronto this weekend, though, so he can stream some real stuff.

2) Black Friday Hits Four-Year Anniversary
That’s how long it’s been since online poker’s so-called Black Friday forever changed the poker landscape in the USA.
It’s been an interesting four years as Full Tilt players were finally paid back, legal online poker has basically had a soft launch in the USA and PokerStars remains on the sidelines (although all signs point to being back soon).
Here’s a look at what people were saying on the Twitterverse about Black Friday today:
4/15/2011, a date that will live in infamy if you're a poker player #BlackFriday— Kevin Mathers (@Kevmath) April 15, 2015
Welp good news is my taxes were accepted, bad news is i paid taxes to the govt who ripped my job away 4 years ago #blackfriday— Shteve Buell (@UWOkid87) April 15, 2015
I almost missed the 4 year anniversary of #BlackFriday when the Department of Justice fired me from my part time Poker job. Still pissed.— Peter Christy (@peterchristy) April 15, 2015
3) Alex Jacob 3-Day Jeopardy! Champ, Un-Readable
It may be awhile before Jeopardy! invites another poker player back to the show.
Alex Jacob picked up his third straight victory on Jeopardy! last night by once again using game theory to get a leg up on his opponents.
The Yale grad built a massive lead, which included a $10,200 all-in win in the Daily Double, on his way to victory.
Jacob was so far ahead that he actually lost over $10,000 in Final Jeopardy but it was irrelevant since no one could catch him.
It’s been an unexpected run for Jacob as most viewers can’t decide if he’s nervous or extremely laid back.
In other words, they’re calling him hard to read. Makes sense considering his background.
Jacob is now up to $72,200 over a 3-day span and will return to action again tonight.
