Daily 3-Bet: Hellmuth Haters, WSOP Crushers, 10 Dark Horses

Phil Hellmuth
Show him your hate. He dares you.

The PokerListings Daily 3-Bet is an unheralded daisy cutter making a move down the home stretch of the afternoon poker news derby.

Any suggestions for a future 3-Bet, feel free to drop a note in the comments.

Today in the 3-Bet we find Phil Hellmuth asking for it, WSOP crushers getting their due and 10 other, lesser-known players to bet on having a big world series.

1) Hellmuth Launches New PhilHellmuth.com, Welcomes Haters

We’ll try and keep the gratuitous promotion to a minimum but we'd be remiss to ignore the relaunch of the new PhilHellmuth.com.

Still slightly slim on content, the new design features sections set for Poker, Sports, Lifestyle and Philanthropy and promises “not just a look into the world of yours truly, but also a place where you can share great stuff with fellow fans and me.”

Other sections include a forum (welcome back 1996!), an online shop with Poker Brat merchandise (who needs a motivational speech?) and an mp3 stream of what’s on Phil’s headphones.

Watch Phil talk about the new site from the Aria in Las Vegas, ask people to tell him how much they hate him and show off his new/used BMW Alpina:

2) Le, Lamb, Leah, Buchanan Best World Series Fantasy Picks?

Shawn Buchanan
Always bet on Buch.

World Series of Poker Fantasy Drafts are all the rage these days and if you want to know who the best horses to pick are (by actual stats, not poker forum cred) the WSOP puts out a great, comprehensive media guide every year with just the kind of info you need.

Cashing stats are broken down into several categories including most cashes overall, most money won and best cashing percentage with stats all the way back to the beginning of the WSOP in the 70s.

The WSOP media team was even kind enough to break last year's results up by players in 5, 10, 20 or 30 events so you can really see where the value is.

As you might expect there are some givens (Ben Lamb duh) but definitely some surprises. Top cash percentage in 2011 playing a minimum of 5 events? Tommy Le, who cashed four times for an 80% cash rate.

Best cash rate for players with 30 events or more? That would be Mike "goLeafsgo"Leah, who cashed five times for a 16% success rate.

Top number of cashes in the 2000s? None other than Phil Hellmuth with 52. Tops in the 2010s? Canada’s Shawn Buchanan with 17.

In other words, it's your ticket to Fantasy glory. FYI pages 37 and 54 have the goods. Download the media guide here.

3) Shuffle Up and Venti from Rio Starbucks

Speaking of WSOP crushers, we found this "Top 10 Dark Horses at the WSOP" list from new player on the WSOP media scene Shuffle Up and Venti.

By the sounds of it, said media person will be posting updates and highlights entirely from the Rio Starbucks all summer. A few intro pieces are up on the site so far including this list of players you may or may not have heard of.

We like it because a) it mentions our own Top 5 picks and upcoming WSOP coverage and b) it seconds our Marcel Bjerkmann pick.

Seriously. We think this kid is good. Now he just has to win something again.

If you don’t know who he is, check the video below with the ridiculously hot Gael Garcia Diaz. Check out Shuffle Up and Venti here.
