Daily 3-Bet: Grand Final Booms, WSOP Chef, Ironman Doyle
The PokerListings Daily 3-Bet is a semi-bluff that actually has decent showdown value in the mid-afternoon poker news world.
You can always contribute to the 3-Bet by making suggestions in the comments section below.
In today’s Daily 3-Bet we’ll take a look at the EPT Grand Final getting some serious buzz, a specialized WSOP service and unstoppable Doyle Brunson.
1) 300 Registered for EPT Grand Final
This year’s EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo is shaping up to be one hell of a tournament.
Set to take place April 30-May 6, 2016, PokerStars has been pushing this year’s edition hard and people have been responding in a big way.
So far there are already 302 players who have qualified for the €5,300 buy-in tournament on PokerStars. It’s already broken records as the most qualifiers for the prestigious tournament.
A huge percentage of the qualifiers (121 to be exact) have come from PokerStars popular EPT €10 Spin & Go’s.
Of course there are still satellites running daily on PokerStars and those will continue to run until April 24, which means the tournament could potentially see record-breaking attendance numbers.
PokerStars has already confirmed that Team Pros Ronaldo Nazario and Daniel Negreanu will play the tournament.
2) WSOP Chef for Hire
Are you going to be playing so much poker at the 2016 WSOP that you don’t even have time to cook your own meals?
If that’s the case you might be playing too much poker but if you’re dead set on it you might want to check out this Craigslist ad.
Chef Michael Wirtz is offering his cooking services in Las Vegas this summer.
He’ll do all your shopping, fix you breakfast, pack your lunch and prime a late-night snack if you request it. He’ll also man the BBQ for any gatherings.
He’ll even act as a designated driver if called upon.
That’s a pretty impressive list of services although we have no idea on the pricing. Then again, if you’re grinding those soft cash games you should be fine, right?
Now if only you could hire someone to go to the gym for you too then you’d be set.
h/t to @ChadAHolloway on this one.
3) Doyle Brunson Survives Sixth Cancer
Doyle Brunson will outlive us all.
That’s what we’ve surmised after covering the Texas Dolly in live tournaments for nearly a decade now.
The 82-year-old Brunson Tweeted last night the Squamous Carcinoma that was affecting him has “gone bye bye”.
Does this mean we might finally get a Brunson appearance at the WSOP this year? Don’t count on it. He doesn’t care for the long hours required in tournaments these days. Still, dare to dream!
