Daily 3-Bet: GPL Betting Lines, Paging J-Merc, Money = Ammo
The PokerListings Daily 3-Bet is that triple-hopped, artisan-crafted brew that’s sure to make you the talk of the mid-afternoon poker news world.
You can contribute to the 3-Bet by making suggestions for future pieces in the comments section below.
In today’s Daily 3-Bet we’ll take a look at GPL betting lines, the very popular Jason Mercier and a nice poker reference in Showtime’s Billions.
1) Jason Mo Opens GPL Betting Lines
Have you got the GPL wired?
You know the strengths and weaknesses of every player and feel confident putting money on the line?
You might want to have a conversation with Jason Mo, who actually went through the trouble of setting a line for this week’s upcoming matches.
Regardless of how you feel about gambling and Mo, it’s probably a good sign for the GPL that people care enough/think there is an edge for actually wager money on it.
The line itself looks pretty snug but we might take a flyer out on Bryn Kenney who seems maybe a little underrated against Montreal National’s Pascal Lefrancois (who’s had an amazing start in the GPL).
Here’s a look at Mo’s line for heads-up (a line for 6-Max is also expected to be released shortly):
Brian Rast -130/1.77
Weiyi Zhang +110/2.10
Igor Kurganov -130/1.77
George Danzer +110/2.10
Timothy Adams -110/1.91
Sergey Lebedev -105/1.95
Jonathan Little -110/1.91
Joao Bauer -105/1.95
Jonathan Jaffe -120/1.83
Eugene Katchalov +105/2.05
Pascal Lefrancois -120/1.83
Bryn Kenney +105/2.05
2) Seat Open with Jason Mercier
Is Jason Mercier a fish?
We’d emphatically give that question a no but the cash game crew in Vegas certainly seems to think different.
Mercier posted the following screen capture and nearly every high-stakes grinder seems to really, really want him in the game.
Maybe they just enjoy his company?
3) Billions Dropping That Poker Knowledge
Forgot that Brian Koppelman, writer of Rounders, is behind the Showtime show Billions?
Did you know that Rounders writers Brian Koppelman and David Levien are behind the Showtime TV show Billions?
Maggie Sif’s character Wendy Rhoades displayed a little poker knowledge in one of the latest episodes. Let's have a little more of that, please!
