Daily 3-Bet: Dwan in Manila, Bosh Loves Mercier, Yoga of Poker

Tom Dwan
Goes where the action is?

The PokerListings Daily 3-Bet is a new pair of stretch pants, an unidentifiable scorpion pose and the sweetest smelling spot in the afternoon poker news hot yoga class.

Got a tip for a future 3-Bet? Drop a note in the comments and we'll gladly take a look.

Today in the 3-Bet we find Tom Dwan touching down in the Philippines (reportedly), Jason Mercier finds a fan in Miami Heat star Chris Bosh (maybe) and Andrew Lichtenberger takes being a poker guru to the next level.

1) durrrrilla Lands in Manila

Jungleman: Has game, will travel.

Has Tom Dwan moved some action to the Solaire Casino in Manila, Philippines?

That's the suggestion floated by website SoMuchPoker, which reported Dwan arrived there yesterday to take advantage of the burgeoning poker scene.

Citing Dan "Jungleman12" Cates, Richard Yong and Jason Mo as some of the high-end poker pros seen working the cash-game tables, a regular $50/$100 USD game has reportedly been running since December with plentiful action.

Keeping the games running/stocked with players has been hard, apparently, but with changing tastes in Macau Solaire has become a viable option for some mid-stakes games.

The WPT also dabbled in Manila back in October when WPT National Phillipines drew 385 players and Japan's Tetsuya Tsuchikawa claimed the title.

As we like to say, "It's a big poker world" out there and it's great to hear of new hotspots developing around the globe. More on Solaire's high-stakes potential here.

2) Bosh Meets Mercier (Or Vice-Versa)

With NBA vets like Paul Pierce, Shawn Marion, Russell Westbrook, Gilbert Arenas, David Lee and Earl Barron all getting their time in at the poker tables it's not that far-fetched to believe Chris Bosh of the Miami Heat is a poker fan.

Given he lives in a hotbed of poker in South Florida, it also might not be far-fetched to think he's seen the name of Jason Mercier around in the media.

We're going to assume this went down the standard way, though, with hoops fan Mercier asking for a picture in Charlotte last night. Still, nice life JMerc.

3) LuckyChewy Takes Us On "High Stakes Journey to Freedom"

We're ready, Chewy.

We love this idea so much we almost think it's too good to be true.

Did Andrew "LuckyChewy" Lichtenberger - who just won $2.1m at the WPT Alpha8 event at the Bellagio in December - really write a book called "Yoga of Poker?"

And we can legitimately buy it and read it?

We're not even sure we can imagine what's inside/what insights we might be able to glean but we're pretty giddy to get our hands on it.

Lichtenberger's newfound health and well-being regime has been touched on a few times over the last couple of years and his success is, well, easy to see.

As he's also one of the best poker minds out there this is an altogether new realm of poker training we're thrilled to see explored.
