In today’s Daily 3-Bet we’ll take a look at Dan Bilzerian’s epic LV>LA journey, some new GPL wild card picks and Phil Hellmuth tiling Mike Ditka.
1) Blitz Ride 2016 Begins
The great Dan Bilzerian Las Vegas to Los Angeles journey is officially under way.
With a $1.2 million bet against Bill Perkins on the line Bilzerian set off from Las Vegas yesterday with a complete LVPD motorcycle escort.
It was quite the scene as Bilzerian rode a custom bike down Las Vegas Boulevard with plenty of onlookers (and angry motorists) on scene.
The early report is that things look good for Bilzerian. He’s already halfway through the ride and he’s got a little over a day to complete the ride. He’s coming up to a big hill, however, and that will be a pivotal section for the so-called Instagram King.
For those keeping track at home Bilzerian wagered $600,000 against Perkins that he could ride nearly 300 miles from LA to LV in under 48 hours.
Bilzerian upped the stakes by also betting his G4 jet against Rick Solomon based on the same wager. If Bilzerian completes the ride in time he’ll take $250,000 from Solomon.
You can follow the challenge via Perkins' Twitter (with frequent Periscopes).
2) Berlin Bears Picks Perkins, Cates
Speaking of Bill Perkins. Philipp Gruissem announced today that he’s adding the businessman as his first wild card.
It’s a bit of an odd choice considering the wealth of professional players still available but it will definitely make the event more entertaining (let’s get some prop bets going!).
Gruissem made up for the pick, however, by picking ultra-skilled Dan “Jungleman” Cates as his second wild card.
It appears that Gruissem has opted not to play, which makes him the first Team Manager to bench himself.
Meanwhile Faraz Jaka, team manager of the San Fransico Rush, went a different direction and immediately selected himself as his first wild card pick and then went on to select grinder Jonathan Jaffe as his second pick.
One thing’s certain: The GPL is starting to fill up!
3) Phil Hellmuth Tilts Mike Ditka
It’s a crime this old Arena football promo featuring Phil Hellmuth and iconic NFL coach Mike Ditka from 2010 doesn’t have more views.
You can rectify that right now.
