Daily 3-Bet: Adelson No-Show, Somerville Returns, Vampire Isildur1
The PokerListings Daily 3-Bet is a last-minute trade that sends three underrated poker stories to the mid-afternoon poker news world for future considerations.
You can always leave suggestions for future 3-Bet pieces in the comments section below.
In today’s Daily 3-Bet we’ll take look at another stumble by Sheldon Adelson’s anti-gaming group, the return of streaming legend Jason Somerville and Viktor Blom going all Twilight on us.
1) Adelson Anti-Online Gaming Group a No-Show
Billionaire Sheldon Adelson’s anti-online gaming group CSIG was scheduled for a high-profile debate against the Poker Player’s Alliance at the Conservative Political Action Conference last week.
The only problem?
Adelson’s group didn’t show.
The PPA has since published a press release that predictably torches its opposition for failing to appear at the conference.
PPA president John Pappas said:
“I guess when the rubber meets the road, prohibition supporters realize they can’t backup their fear-mongering PR campaign with actual facts.”
Them’s fighting words!
2) Jason Somerville Returns with Run it UP
When Jason “Jcarver” Somerville signed with PokerStars last week he also mentioned that his popular Run it UP broadcast would be returning to Twitch.tv.
Well he’s back and better than ever after kicking off 70-straight days of pure, 100% Grade-A poker streaming on PokerStars yesterday.
Today Somerville’s doing MTT Mondays and if you’ve never watched his surprisingly-entertaining stream there has never been a better time to check it out:jcarverpoker
3) JRB Parties With Phil Ivey, Vampire Viktor Blom
Ain’t no party like a Jean-Robert Bellande/Phil Ivey/Viktor Blom party.
JRB Tweeted this gem from London over the weekend and it looks like he was having a good time. And so does Blom. For our money Ivey looks a little scared.
Who knew Viktor Blom was a vampire though? Wait, he’s got pale skin, spends all day indoors and has super-human stamina for marathon poker sessions. He’s one Kristen Stewart away from getting his own cameo in Twilight.
