Today in the 3-Bet we find a big plate of poker heroes to watch in Florida, some 'funky' decks under consideration and a new payout scale for EPT Season 13.
1) Big Guns Blaze in Big 4
Remember that simultaneous four final-table playdown at the SHRPO Poker Open we mentioned yesterday?
Action is imminent from So. Fla right now and the list of poker heroes in the mix is noteworthy.
The final table of the $25k High Roller is absurdly talented with Marvin Rettenmaier, Dan Colman, Rainer Kempe and Nick Petrangelo all in play.
Seth Davies, Jason Koon, Roman Valerstein, Tim Burt and Joe Serock are all still alive in the $5k Championship.
November Niner Jerry Wong, Dermot Blain and Dan Heimiller are in the $2.6k and even the $1,100 FT is stuff with talent like Aaron Massey, Daniel Buzgon, Marsha Wolak and Phil Hui.
It'll be a great show with millions of dollars still to be distributed. Toggle through two live streams to watch it all right here!
If you need some added incentive Battle of Malta host Maria Ho is an emcee, too!
2) 4-Color Decks Yay or Nay?
A fairly innocuous-looking tweet from the EPT last week stirred up a bit of buzz this week about 4-color decks at EPT Live Events.
A staple of online poker the EPT tried them out at EPT Malta last year to some positive reviews and is thinking of giving them another go at EPT Barcelona:
At the lower stakes they seem to be well received but high-stakes players are definitely against the idea - for a couple of reasons, not the least of which is game integrity:

@OnTheMac there are a wide variety of ways to see cards you aren't supposed to see. 4CD makes it so much easier to identify specific cards.— steveodwyer (@steveodwyer) August 13, 2016
@PokerStarsEPT No 4 colour decks please— Jack Salter (@jackziyang) August 13, 2016
@PokerStarsEPT you're not going to get close to a majority favourite, ppl have to get used to favour them (obv some ppl wont ever prefer)— David Yan (@missoraclepoker) August 8, 2016
@PokerStarsEPT i do want to see em, just protect your cards haters— trujus (@TyRaeL_88) August 9, 2016

3) EPT Expands Payouts to 20% for Season 13
A new $/€25K PLO High Roller and more fun side activities like chess, pinball and backgammon are planned but most notable will be the change in payouts.
"For the last three seasons," Johnson writes, "the EPT has paid 15% of the field at our Live Events with a minimum cash of approximately 1.7x your buy-in.
"For EPT13, we are expanding our payouts out to 20% of the field (non-EPT events will finish out their seasons with the existing structures).
"It isn't going to have the top-end impact that some people may think as we have decided that the min cash for all the players that we are adding between 15% and 20% will be between 1x-1.2x your buy-in."
A very interesting shift - for players at both ends of the poker spectrum. What's your take?
