Cryptologic goes Dutch with new contract

CryptoLogic Inc. has landed a three-year licensing contract to develop software for a new online poker room and casino to be run by the Dutch government.

The exclusive contract will see CryptoLogic providing the technology for Holland Casino, an online gaming operation available only to residents of the Netherlands that is expected to launch in June.

The agreement, orchestrated by CryptoLogic subsidiary WagerLogic Ltd., is subject to ratification by a supervisory board and the Dutch government.

Holland Casino currently runs 14 brick and mortar establishments across the Netherlands.

"As we take Holland Casino online, we needed a quality partner who could support us with innovation and integrity - and CryptoLogic exceeded our expectations," said Holland Casino vice president Ron Goudsmit in a release Friday.

"We're excited to develop and launch our online gaming site, which includes a comprehensive responsible gaming program, with a respected provider who can deliver a unique experience to our customers."

CryptoLogic Inc. has developed software for leading gaming companies such as William Hill and The company is currently looking to expand its operations in the emerging European online gambling market, said CEO Lewis Rose, who traveled to Amsterdam to sign the contract.

"By adding a government controlled casino operator to our blue-chip roster of customers, we have an excellent template for other governments interested in realizing the benefits of safe, secure and regulated Internet gaming," he said.
